Hot Tips for a Hot Bod
Standing arm curls are a great exercise for your arm muscles. To get a full range of muscle workout, flex while lifting. At the end of each repetition, straighten your arms completely by flexing your triceps. Flexing will ensure your muscles are worked through the entire range of motion.
Keep track of your walking throughout the day. You would be surprised at how many steps you take or don’t take. Set a daily goal, and stick to it. Ideally, you should take about 10,000 steps each day. At the end of the day, write down the number of steps you took, and if you didn’t achieve your goal, write down why.
A really good way to help you get fit is to start drinking green tea. Green tea can be a great, natural alternative to coffee if you’re not much of a fan of coffee. Green tea has been proven to give the metabolism a boost and it also provides energy.
A different way to exercise and maintain fitness while also having a good outlet for stress are sledge hammer exercises. By hitting a sledgehammer against a big rubber tire one will work their upper body in a way that it is most likely not used to being worked. This shock to the body will boost fitness.
Keep yourself motivated by trying new activities and classes. Try taking on something you’ve never done before. Consider taking a boxing class or learning yoga. Maybe you’ve always wanted to ballroom dance. Give it a try, you can never have too many ways to keep your body moving and active.
Decrease your time in the gym by not taking as long to rest between sets of weightlifting. When you first begin lifting weights your muscles are still strong enough to go right through. Think intuitively and take breaks when you need them, but you can cut down a good 10-20% off your gym time by cutting down on those early breaks, which would allow you to move on to something else that much quicker.
Exercising properly in order to stay active and lose weight does not mean you have to go out and buy fancy equipment or join a gym. Some of the best exercises you can possibly do can be performed with nothing but your body. Think about toe-touches, sit-ups, push-ups, crunches, jumping-jacks, and even jogging in place.
Never accept pain during a workout. Pain is not a sign that you are doing something right, and you could really hurt yourself if you don’t stop when you’ve done too much. Know the difference between feeling natural tension in your muscles and outright pain. If pain doesn’t stop when you are done with your workout, consider seeing a doctor.
Set realistic fitness goals by considering the time you have available and your current level of physical fitness. By setting realistic goals you are less likely to get discouraged and give up. Goals also help you track your progress so you can adjust your goals as necessary to achieve an optimum fitness level.
